On the destruction of the town library in Leipzig in 2003

Do books satisfy your chocolate fix?

I saw this in a vending machine yesterday and thought it had potential, even though I didn’t want to buy the one, rather specialised book they were offering (“The destruction of the town library in Leipzig in 2003”).

Thinking about it, maybe it’s a manifesto. Maybe they want to get rid of Berlin’s libraries too? They’ll all be replaced with vending machines full of books. They’d need some kind of post box to collect the books people have read but don’t want to keep…

Or maybe, having destroyed the library in Leipzig, they need to get rid of the books, and are planning to sell them. Slowly. It’s been long enough to no longer be suspicious. Except I wouldn’t know how to store that many books that long, unless I had a library…

For 1€ per book I guess it’s pretty good value 🙂
